Splash, splodge, make and create! Summer Art Fun has arrived with children encouraged to set their imaginations free and transform the Gallery at VCUQatar into a wonderland of color, shapes and incredible creations in a whole variety of media. And don’t forget the ‘big finale’ - an exhibition party where family and friends are welcome to come along and see what fabulous things your little artists have been up to!
Students explore a variety of media and participate in fun and creative art activities. In addition to a group exhibition at the end of the week, highlights include drawing, painting, collage, experimentation with different art materials, and a museum visit. Class A and B offer the same curriculum at different dates.
Students participating in the Creative Discovery program will merge traditional media and new digital media to build their design skills. During this two-week course, students will be introduced to the VCUQatar majors and learn through drawing, painting, digital media, creativity exercises, and group activities. This class includes a visit to an art museum and final exhibition open to family and friends.
Students in the Design Intensive program will explore traditional art media, digital media and photography as part of portfolio development and an introduction to the various design disciplines. This three-week course offers drawing and creative skills development, media experimentation, several workshops and museum and gallery visits. Students will create an individual project related to: Fashion, Interiors, Graphics, or Painting & Printmaking. The program culminates with a final exhibition open to family and friends.
