I am Al Maha Al Maadeed, a Qatari-based artist. My work evolved from my practice of investigating and archiving my cultural identity and family history. This includes documenting certain cultural practices. As a naturalist, I enjoy exploring the local rural spaces and glorifying them in my work. I usually work with mediums such as charcoal, oil paints, photography, digital painting/artwork, and paper-making. Some of my work has been exhibited in the Al-Hosh gallery in 2020 and at VCUQ gallery spaces in 2020. I have a BFA in painting and printmaking and a minor degree in art history from Virginia Commonwealth University.
