With the numerous changes and developments that Qatar has been witnessing for the past two of decades, graphic designers have modernized their artwork to adapt to new visions. At the same time, globalization and modernization have brought controversies, with modern technology significantly affecting the country’s culture. Although Qatar’s traditional culture follows the Arabic heritage, the country is becoming very westernized, and we can see this in artwork and architecture. This project responds by conceptualizing and making sense of the evident changes, through a range of physical and digital formats. This work includes the different phases Doha has witnessed in its architecture and design landscapes and how modernization has modified the structure of the artwork. It includes clips of the city comparing the old and modern city. Moreover, the project outlines the significant changes based on different maps from the last decades.
