SUMMARY:One of My Kind (OOMK) Workshop
DESCRIPTION:How do you make sense of the news? What qualities allow you to trust what you are seeing? Our workshop with One of My Kind (OOMK) dives deeper into how we approach being media literate in the digital age. \nZinemaking is a form of handmade self-publishing\, usually expressing underground\, non-mainstream and often political ideas. In this workshop participants will have opportunities to work with different news media content\, both found and provided\, to lay bare the visual and rhetorical cues we internalize when we trust media sources. Over the workshop participants will work with news stories and facts related to a selected theme in order to explore and interrogate ideas surrounding constructions of the truth. \nCome and be introduced to the zinemaking practice\, its contemporary history of agitators\, and DIY cultures in new contexts. \nOne of My Kind (OOMK) \nOne of My Kind (OOMK) is a collaborative publishing platform. OOMK have lead workshops across the UK\, including at TATE Modern\, the Southbank Centre\, and the University of the Arts\, London. Working together since 2014\, they make\, publish and distribute books and printed works developed from self-initiated projects. OOMK also commission new works by women\, and co-curate DIY Cultures\, one of the UK’s largest annual independent publishing fairs. Their own zine\, OOMK Zine\, is a highly visual\, handcrafted small-press publication. Printed twice a year\, its content focuses on the imaginations\, creativity and spirituality of women\, each edition centering around a different creative theme\, with more general content exploring topics of faith\, activism and identity. With a focus on self-publishing and education\, OOMK founded and run a community printing press in East London\, Rabbits Road Press\, and work with museums\, educational institutions and self-organized groups to deliver workshops and produce collaborative publications. \nTickets \nOpen to all \nFor each of our programs there are a limited number of complementary university student tickets available\, one per student. Current student ID must be presented with ticket for entry. Complementary student tickets are available on a first come\, first served basis only through Eventbrite. \nFor more information:  https://mediamajlis.northwestern.edu/en/whats-on/event/deconstructing-truth-a-zinemaking-workshop-2020-02-25 \nThis program is in collaboration with The Media Majlis at Northwestern University in Qatar. \nThis program will be conducted in English; no simultaneous translation will be available.

SUMMARY:Crossing Boundaries Lecture by Disarming Design From Palestine
DESCRIPTION:” We believe that design practices function as an instrument for social change\, emancipation and self-empowerment. “ – Disarming Design From Palestine \nIn this Crossing Boundaries Lecture\, Ghadeer Dajani\, the Design and Production Manager at Disarming Design From Palestine (DDFP)\, and Raed Hamouri\, the Executive Director at (DDFP) will talk about how occupation restricts craft and product development\, and where politics\, design and crafts meet. How can designers be empowered to more actively engage in society through collective design-thinking courses and social design impact? \nThe workshop participants will design new products based on the techniques of the items that each of them will bring to the workshops. They will then focus on their product’s narratives. What are the complexities? Is there a political dimension behind the product\, its production and distribution? What does it mean from a social and ecological perspective? \nDisarming Design from Palestine is a thought-provoking design label for the development and presentation of contemporary design from Palestine. The products vary from ceramics to toys\, and from fashion to household items. They are made by designers and artists who are working in collaboration with local producers\, and who are feeding innovative ideas for the production of crafts. \nImage: Courtesy of Disarming Design From Palestine

SUMMARY:The Sea is the Limit
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe Sea is the Limit exhibition brings together works by international artists who are addressing the issues of refugees\, borders\, migration and national identity. Drawing on both historical and contemporary narratives that shape identity and opinion\, the artists question the meaning of nationalism\, free movement\, inclusion and exclusion. \nUsing the language of painting\, drawing\, sculpture\, video\, installation and virtual reality\, the artists explore some of the complex experiences and emotions associated with borders and migration\, statelessness and belonging. The works in the exhibition do not offer us solutions to the migrant crisis\, but instead draw our attention to its challenges in a meaningful way. \nArtists: Halil Altindere\, Mohammed Sami\, Nidhal Chamekh\, Susan Stockwell\, Taus Makhacheva and Varvara Shavrova \nCurator: Varvara Shavrova \nSpecial thanks to the Patrick Heide Art Contemporary Gallery\, London and the York Art Gallery\, York\, UK. \nCredit image: Susan Stockwell\, Traded Winds\, ©Susan Stockwell 2016\, ©photo Steve Hickey2016

SUMMARY:Crossing Boundaries Lecture by Lawrence Abu Hamdan
DESCRIPTION:Monday\, April 1st at 6:30 pm: Museum of Islamic Art Auditorium (MIA) \nTuesday\, April 2 at 12:45pm: VCUarts Qatar’s Atrium \nThis lecture\, the latest in his series of Abu Hamdan’s live audio essays examines the contemporary politics of listening\, and the importance of the earwitness. His multifaceted work takes a critical look at politics\, specifically how it relates to sound\, and the implications of today’s pervasive culture of surveillance and listening and recording technologies. One of the main focuses of this “hearing” is Abu Hamdan’s collaboration with Amnesty International and Forensic Architecture (an independent research agency based at the University of London) on an acoustic investigation into the prison of Saydnaya\, which is located 25 km north of Damascus. \nIn Birdwatching\, Abu Hamdan brings the audience through the earwitness testimony of survivors from Sayndaya prison near Damascus who were blindfolded or kept in total darkness for extremely long periods and who developed an acute sensitivity to sound. The prison is inaccessible to independent observers and monitors. The memories of those who survived it are the only resource available from which to learn of\, and document\, the violations still taking place there. However\, the capacity of detainees to see anything in Saydnaya was highly restricted as they were mostly kept in darkness\, blindfolded\, or made to cover their eyes. As a result\, the prisoners developed an acute sensitivity to sound. Through new and dedicated techniques of earwitness interviews created by Abu Hamdan\, the witnesses reconstructed the architecture and events of the prison they experienced through sound. \nBiography \nDescribed in a Bloomberg News article headlined as\, “The Art World Star You’ve Never Heard Of”\, his works are amongst the collections at the MoMA and the Guggenheim in New York\, the Van AbbeMuseum in Eindhoven\, Centre Pompidou in Paris\, and the Tate Modern in London. \nLawrence Abu Hamdan’s interest with sound and its intersection with politics originate from his background as a touring musician and facilitator of DIY music. His audio investigations have been used as evidence at the UK’s Asylum and Immigration Tribunal and as advocacy for organizations such as Amnesty International and Defence for Children International. His forensic audio investigations were conducted as part of his research for Forensic Architecture at Goldsmiths College London where he received his PhD in 2017. Abu Hamdan is the author of the artist book [inaudible] : A politics of listening in 4 acts.  \nAbu Hamdan was the recipient of the 2018 Abraaj Group Art Prize and the winner of Art Basel’s 2018 Baloise Art Prize in the “Statements” sector. His film Rubber Coated Steel (2016) won the Tiger short film award at the Rotterdam International Film festival 2017 and his exhibition Earshot at Portikus Frankfurt (2016) won him the 2016 Nam June Paik Award for new media. Abu Hamdan was a 2017/2018 guest of the DAAD Kunstler Program in Berlin and the 2015-17 fellow at the Vera List Centre for Art and Politics at the New School in New York. He has had solo exhibitions at locations including Hammer Museum L.A (2018)\, Portikus Frankfurt (2016)\, Kunsthalle St Gallen (2015)\, Beirut in Cairo (2013)\, The Showroom\, London (2012)\, and Casco\, Utrecht (2012). His works are part of collections at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Guggenheim in New York\, the Van AbbeMuseum in Eindhoven\, Centre Pompidou in Paris\, and the Tate Modern in London. \nImage credit: Courtesy of the artist and Maureen Paley Gallery\, London.

SUMMARY:-162˚ Trading Power
DESCRIPTION:At -162°C natural gas becomes liquid\, shrinking its volume by 600 times\, thus becoming a very convenient commodity to trade. Japan is the top LNG purchaser for Qatar\, and Qatar is the top provider to Japan. Although mostly economic this unique agreement impacts culture\, lifestyle\, and geopolitics\, consequently creating a bridge between two distant countries. \nIn 2011 a devastating tsunami and earthquake shook Japan and crippled their nuclear energy production thus making the country more reliant on natural gas. Following this disaster\, Qatar strengthened their unique bond with Japan by offering large quantities of LNG at competitive prices. \nLNG is mostly odourless\, colourless and almost weightless\, but becomes very tangible once fed into Japan’s infrastructure reaching its citizens and allowing them to cook and heat their homes. LNG has also impacted transportation and industry\, becoming the propellant for the new Tokyo Taxis in preparation of the 2020 Summer Olympics\, and is used in the production of paper\, clay\, glass\, plastic\, petroleum and food processing. \nIn Qatar\, LNG has become the pillar of the national economy and wealth and plays a crucial role in the domestic and foreign policies. It has fueled the growth of education among its citizens\, and is the catalyst for recent developments that have shaped the country in preparation for the 2022 World Cup. \nThis kinetic exhibition explores the significance of LNG relations between Japan and Qatar using 40 floating printers that source relevant text and images from the internet. The result is a choreographed performance of swaying printers randomly mashing-up images\, making information tangible on paper. \nOriginally exhibited at the W+K gallery in Tokyo\, the 2nd edition will take place at the @dohafirestation in Doha Qatar\, with the opening reception on March 14th as part of the @tasmeem_doha art and design Biennial. \nCredits:  \nVCUarts Qatar\, George Paul\, Maryam Al-Homaid\, Michael Hersrud\, Nathan Ross Davis\, Levi Hammett\, Simone Muscolino and with contributions from Reham Mohamed\, Hind Al Saad\, Sarah Elawad and Sophomore Graphic design students at VCUarts Qatar. \nTexas A&M University at Qatar: Adam Cath \nAdvanced Institute of Industrial Technology\, at Tokyo Metropolitan University: Giovanni Innella and Junichi Kanebako \nThe exhibition in Doha was funded by a Faculty Research Grant.

SUMMARY:QAL
DESCRIPTION:The initial idea of this project was to make a connection between ancient Persian art icons and link them to a new design objective in the form of an installation. The key elements were Persian carpets and Persian gardens which were inspired by the idea of an earthly paradise. It proliferated spread through Persian literature from the time of the Achaemenid Dynasty. Such gardens would have been enclosed. The garden’s purpose was to provide a protected place to relax and for spiritual\, and leisure purposes. \nPersian carpets were made for a wide variety of utilitarian and symbolic purposes. They were produced in Iran and the surrounding areas which once belonged to the Persian Empire and were used at home\, sold locally\, and exported to other parts of the region and further abroad. The tradition and style of Persian gardens has influenced the design of gardens from Andalusia to India and beyond. In contrast with traditional carpets\, QAL is not a single pattern. It is mortal. It dies in one second. QAL’s patterns are created in real time by hands moving through the light. The carpet is created by an accumulation of patterns on a transparent vertical screen. The laptop’s screen projects white light towards the hands of the viewer which starts to generate patterns made by its movements. The result is a new\, highly detailed\, physical carpet in very high resolution. Over 60 patterns can be generated in one second. Some of them have been captured and are printed on canvases within the exhibition. Because of the countless possibilities of different parameters\, such as the amount of light in the gallery\, the sizes and the positions of hands and skin colors\, the patterns are unique and it is almost impossible to recreate the same one. Some of these patterns was part of the LAND\, Ali Phi’s solo show. \nThe Art Trail Tour offered by Qatar Foundation is scheduled on Thursday\, March 14 at 12:30pm in presence of the artist. \nELEMAUN BY: ALI PHI \nA performance-driven audiovisual project started in 2010 will be presented on March 14 at 6pm at VCUarts Qatar Atrium. It is concentrated on Persian motifs\, the forgotten essence of Iran as an inspirational region and the middle-eastern philosophy. It is an electronic reproduction and sampling of ritual and regional music of Iran\, and its rhythms and patterns are the main material of this project in both formats of sound and visual. \nAli Phi is media artist and interaction designer. His works explore connections between programming\, generative audio-visual design\, interactive media and immersive environment installations. His explorations in media arts started with the project Elemaun in 2008 as an audio-visual performance. \nAli Phi’s works depict the relationship between point\, line\, plane\, light and darkness. The digital process and flexibility in his works are an interrelation and a diverse and growing alteration between today’s media and capacities of presentation. The flow of his works is to establish a relationship between video presentations\, programming and converting sounds into images\, and vice versa. It aims to shift the process of showing movement into images and to interconnect all those elements and how they have been transformed by computer. \nHe is the founder of Nullsight\, a media lab and art collective in Tehran and freelance festival curator of TADAEX– Tehran Annual Digital Art Exhibition. Ali Phi has performed and exhibited his works at international festivals including Ars Electronica\, Mutek AE\, and Patchlab\, and had several media art installations in public spaces such as an exhibition for Monson Group and project SHYM in an under-construction building. \nThe opening of the exhibition will take place in the presence of the artist. \nOpening hours: Saturday to Thursday – From 9am to 5pm / Friday – Closed \nSpecial thanks to Mohsen Gallery\, Iran. \nImage courtesy of the artist.

SUMMARY:Crossing Boundaries Lecture by Taekyeom Lee
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, February 5 at 12:45pm: VCUarts Qatar’s Atrium \nThursday\, February 7 at 4:00pm: Qatar National Library (QNL) \nTechnological convergence and digital manufacturing processes using computer numerical controls have broadened creative possibilities and the perception of the three-dimensional experience for artists and designers. In this interactive lecture\, Taekyeom Lee will share not only the success and failure of the toolmaking process\, but his ongoing research efforts to develop\, test\, and find the place of the emerging technologies in creative practices. He explores unconventional materials and digital methods to graphic design to create 3D type\, graphics\, and even designed objects to combine digital and physical experiences. \nThe explorations are engaged with tangible experience assisted and/or created with various digital controls. Digital fabrication techniques play a crucial role in turning intangible ideas into tangible design products\, also become an agent to build the strong connection between analog and digital environments. For his research\, he built custom tools for his research including 3D printers and paste extruders to produce 3D ceramic type and objects as a ceramic 3D printer was not affordable or accessible. \nTaekyeom Lee is an interdisciplinary artist although he prefers to introduce himself as a designer using artist’s material and artistic sensibility. He is currently an Assistant professor of Graphic Design at Appalachian State University in Boone\, NC. He received an MFA degree in Graphic Design from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research explores 3D type as a series of typographic explorations to strive challenges and seek a new way to create tangible letterforms in three-dimensional space. Taekyeom Lee’s research has drawn interest nationally and internationally. \nThe Crossing Boundaries Lecture Series is an initiative of VCUarts Qatar. The lecture will be presented in English. \nImage courtesy of the designer.

SUMMARY:Comfort Zone I (Home)
DESCRIPTION:Comfort zones are forms of concessions which we allow ourselves in times of global political uproar\, violent conflicts\, economic instability and in an era of increasing numbers of natural disasters. However\, to be comfortable is mostly a privilege that comes with the right amount of wealth and access to education and is often linked to other determinant factors such as race\, gender or nationality. The exhibition curated by Daniel Berndt reflects on comfort on different levels taking the notion of home and privacy as a point of departure. Bringing together the works of three international artists from different artistic backgrounds it addresses the comfort zone quite literally\, as an allegory for the nation state and the establishment of borders or a form of escapism\, as an (imaginary) place to which we want to retreat from the often overwhelming reality of our everyday life. \nA panel discussion moderated by Dr. Bahaa Abudaya\, Curator of Contemporary Art at Doha Fire Station Museum with artists Al Gharaballi and Shahbazi and curator Berndt will take place at the VCUarts Atrium at 6pm before the opening reception at the Gallery at 7pm. \nRegular opening hours: Saturday to Thursday – From 9am to 5pm / Friday – Closed \nMore information about the artists and curator: \nBasma Alsharif is an artist/filmmaker who was born in Kuwait of Palestinian origin\, and raised between France\, the US and the Gaza Strip. She works between cinema and installation\, centering on the human condition in relation to shifting geopolitical landscapes and natural environments. \nKhalid al Gharaballi is a Kuwaiti artist who is based in Kuwait City. After first establishing an artistic collaboration with fellow Kuwaiti artist and musician Fatima Al Qadiri based in New York City\, he relocated to Kuwait City in 2012 to help co-found the artist collective GCC. His solo work centers on documenting the urban and domestic landscapes of his native Kuwait. \nSetareh Shahbazi is an Iranian artist who is based in Berlin. Her solo shows were held at Tarahane Azad\, Tehran; Gypsum Gallery\, Cairo; 98weeks Project Space\, Beirut; Contemporary Arts Forum\, Santa Barbara; Galerie Sfeir-Semler\, Hamburg; Montgomery\, Berlin and at Karlsruher Kunstverein. \nThe exhibition has been curated by Daniel Berndt\, whose writing has appeared in Ibraaz\, Springerin\, Aperture and Frieze\, amongst other publications. His book\, “Wiederholung als Widerstand?” (Repetition as Resistance?)\, on the artistic (re-)contextualization of historical photographs in relation to the history of Palestine (analyzing works by Akram Zaatari\, Lamia Joreige\, Walid Raad\, Emily Jacir and Yasmine Eid-Sabbagh)\, was published in 2018 by Transcript. \nSpecial thanks to Galerie Imane Farès\, Gypsum Gallery and Sultan Gallery Kuwait. \nImage caption: Khalid al Gharaballi\, Screen_\, 2016\, 80cm x 100cm. SUMMARY:Soujud
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition\, which has been led by Layla Bacha\, Art Specialist and Nour Elbasuni\, Coordinator at Qatar Foundation\, puts together two projects created at VCUarts Qatar. \nThe Modern Prayer Rugs exhibit represents a culmination of the design journey of six finalists who entered the VCUarts Qatar Materials Library Modern Prayer Design Competition in 2017. This exhibition was inspired by the creative vision of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser. The six rugs being exhibited represent the finalists of the Modern Prayer Rug Design Competition which was hosted by the Materials Library at VCUarts Qatar. \nThe competition challenged students from across Qatar to submit concept designs that reimagined the Islamic prayer rug using traditional or unconventional materials\, while honoring the richness and the values of Islamic culture and heritage. The six finalists\, selected on the overall strength of their concepts\, had the opportunity to work with the professional staff and collections of VCUarts Qatar’s Materials Library to produce the six rug prototypes for an exhibition. The ‘Modern Prayer Rug’ exhibition features six beautiful and creative prayer rugs that demonstrate innovative uses of materials and functional design elements\, and was presented for the first time at Company House\, Msheireb Downtown Doha in the Fall of 2017. \nThe designers included: Aaqifa Altaf\, Ahmed Al Nowfal\, Maryam Al Semaitt\, May Makia\, Nawar Al Mutlaq\, Mohammad Yasin Arafat\, Neihan Yaqoob\, Sidra Sohail and Sultana Jesmine. \nThe Modern Felted Prayer Rugs were handmade in the Netherlands by students and faculty from the MFA in Design program at VCUarts Qatar. Wispy wool fibers—when agitated with soap and water—tangle and blend to form a non-woven textile called felt. The ancient process requires careful observation and keen sensory awareness. With deliberate movement and attention to the strands of wool\, the material transforms before one’s eyes. It is a natural alchemy; out of many\, one. \nEach year students and faculty from the MFA in Design program at VCUarts in Qatar travel together to participate in an immersive learning experience—their annual field study. They travel outside the Gulf region to benefit from specialized knowledge and innovative processes\, while maintaining a cultural link to Qatar through the design outcomes they produce. It is a strategic fusion of old and new\, students and faculty\, foreign and familiar. \nThe 2017 field study included a five-day workshop in Oldeberkoop\, the Netherlands. Students and faculty each designed and felted a modern prayer rug. The modern felted prayer rugs explore the following themes: modernity (impact of advanced materials and technologies on the act of fabrication)\, tactility\, surface\, depth\, function\, portability\, comfort\, durability\, and cultural resonance. \nThe designers included: Majdulin Nasrallah\, Mariam Rafehi\, Rabab Abdulla\, Rabeva Khatoon and Yasmeen Suleiman. \nA special thanks to Hawar Textile Institute and Qatar Foundation. \nImage credit: Modern felted prayer rug\, Yasmeen Suleiman\, 2017.

SUMMARY:Living Meshes
DESCRIPTION:Living Meshes is an interdisciplinary exhibition where lived experiences are in constant exploration within different processes which are activated by the visitor. These art pieces explore experimental processes and challenge conventional viewpoints\, they also activate relational methods that will provoke the audience to look at the living world in Mexico and Qatar in different ways. \nThe exhibition activates interdisciplinary art processes where the audience can touch\, be part of the art work\, draw\, create 3D printed objects\, smell\, and leave traces in the gallery. At the same time\, it creates worlds across individuals\, species and scales\, and how they are tending toward the flickering of interdisciplinary artistic processes. \nSiglinde Langholz\, an interdisciplinary artist from Puebla\, Mexico. SUMMARY:Cirque du Soleil: Innovation & Collaboration at the Heart of Costume Creation
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday\, October 9 at 12:45pm: VCUarts Qatar’s Atrium \nThursday\, October 11 at 6:00pm: Qatar National Library \nIn this Crossing Boundaries lecture\, two of Cirque du Soleil’s key creatives will take us behind the scenes of Cirque du Soleil’s highly regarded costume workshop that each year produces the thousands of intricately designed and highly advanced costumes that are key to its success. Denise Tétreault\, the Director of Specialities\, Development & Innovation at Cirque du Soleil\, and Mark DeCoste\, an Assistant Designer from Cirque du Soleil will discuss the creative processes for costume design that are at the heart of everything that Cirque du Soleil’s acclaimed workshop stands for. \nEmerging from its humble beginnings in Quebec in 1984 as a group of 20 street performers\, Cirque du Soleil has reinvented circus arts and grown to become a world-renowned leader in live entertainment\, enthralling more than 180 million spectators from 450 cities in 60 countries from across six continents. Cirque du Soleil’s spectacular mix of artistry\, theatrics and designs combine the skills of 1\,300 artists from more than 50 different countries together with a combined staff of 4\,000 to produce content for a broad range of audacious projects. \nDenise Tétreault\, Director – Specialities\, Development & Innovation\, Cirque du Soleil \nDenise Tétreault joined Cirque du Soleil in 1991. She collaborated with costume designer Dominique Lemieux on multiple shows\, including Fascination\, Nouvelle Expérience\, Saltimbanco\, Mystère\, Alegria\, Quidam\, “O” et La Nouba. She began as a seamstress and later worked as a buyer. The growing success of Cirque du Soleil led to Denise being mandated to create a supply department for its costume workshop\, where she worked as an assistant to designers such as François Barbeau (Dralion) and Eiko Ishioka (Varekai). This in turn led to the establishment of a research and development department that catered to the costume workshop’s increasing demands for new materials and techniques as Cirque du Soleil’s shows became ever more spectacular. From 2006 to today\, she worked as the director of the creative department for the costume department which produced up to three new shows a year. It now has more than 350 employees. \nMark DeCoste\, Assistant Costume Designer at Cirque du Soleil \nMark DeCoste has more than 25 years experience in costume design. Besides working with the creative team at Cirque du Soleil\, he has also worked among the most renowned theater and dance companies in Canada\, Ex Machina\, the Met Opera\, Citadel Theatre\, Franco Dragone Productions and the Vienna State Opera. At Cirque du Soleil he supervises the entire process of costume design at the creative department\, from conception and design to creation and completion. As seamster\, cutter\, instructor\, coordinator or assistant\, his team player qualities and generosity in sharing his knowledge is well recognized in the costume community. Mark has worked with many talented costume designers and acquired an extensive knowledge of historical as well as contemporary costuming. \nImage credit: Hummingbird from LUZIA\nPicture credit: Matt Beard\nCostume credit: Giovanna Buzzi / 2016 Cirque du Soleil

SUMMARY:Younès Rahmoun: Little Worlds\, Complex Structures
DESCRIPTION:Younès Rahmoun: Little Worlds\, Complex Structures triangulates three works exploring positions of agency and being in the world. In Jabal-Hajar-Turab #10 (2018) the artist looks outwards to the Rif mountains in Morocco where he is from\, exploring the connection between the natural organic materials of the earth and their role in the construction of collective identity and belonging. As a space for individual meditation Markaba (2016) is a geometric sculpture of six pyramids that draws on science and spirituality in its construction and meaning\, riffing on the logic of the camera obscura\, opening to the universe from its interior. In the video Khamsa (2011) the creative act is staked as an active position of engagement with the social and political urgencies of the world. \nIn these works\, natural organisms\, geometry\, and creative expression are called on as new materials and forms to give shape to ways of seeing and imagining constellations of small worlds and complex structures in daily life and the universe. Looking through these prisms reveals the necessity and the agency we have to be present in context\, and acknowledge the infinite potentiality all around us. \nThis exhibition is curated by Laura Barlow\, Curator\, Middle East at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art. \nThe opening of the exhibition will take place in the presence of the artist and the curator. \nArt Trail Tours with artist and curator on Thursday\, Sept. 20 at 12:30pm & Saturday\, Sept. 22 at 10:00am. \nRegular opening hours: Saturday to Thursday – From 9am to 5pm / Friday – Closed \nImage caption: Younès Rahmoun\, Markaba\, 2016.
