We are committed to helping faculty and students access the resources they need for their teaching and learning. You may contact us with any questions you may have here. Updates are posted to Instagram (#vcuqlibrary) as well.
Online Consultations
Librarians are available to meet faculty and students for online consultations.
All electronic resources (ebooks, journal articles, and databases) remain available through the Art and Design Library and are accessible from off-campus through the online catalog, Primo.
Faculty, staff, and students have access to many popular databases (Jstor, Academic Search Complete, Proquest), image and video databases, and art-specific databases.
The database A-Z list and databases by subject provide access to online journals, ebooks, videos and documentaries, images, and other scholarly material.
Materials Library and the TinkerLab
The Materials Library and TinkerLab will be open by appointment only, scheduled in advance by email to vcuqml@vcu.edu.
Students and faculty can schedule a meeting with the Materials Library team by emailing vcuqml@vcu.edu.
Faculty, staff and students have access to Material ConneXion’s online database of 10,000+ materials. Sign in with your VCU eID and password.

Innovative Media Studios (IMS) Equipment & Studio Usage
Innovative Media Studios will be open and accessible by appointment.

The Writing Center
The Writing Center is open for online consultations from 7 am-5 pm.
Students can make appointments as usual on WCOnline. Slots fill up quickly, so be sure to make appointments early.
The Writing Center has a growing database of citation guides and writing resources available here.

Interlibrary Loan
Requesting Books and Interlibrary Loans
- Please email us for assistance with accessing electronic resources at VCUarts Qatar and beyond.
- For articles and book chapters not available online, please email us directly.
- Faculty, staff, and students may still request digital articles via interlibrary loan services (ILLiad).
- Specific requests for ebooks can be submitted to this form. We will do our best to expedite any requests through early December.
