VCUarts Qatar’s Office of Research and Development recently held “Research Week,” an event highlighting the university’s faculty research, at its campus building in Education City.
During the week, faculty members had an informal platform to share their innovative and diverse research happenings to the wider VCUarts community. Participants during the three-day event also had the chance to engage in discussions with the presenters and explore opportunities for research and further collaborations.
Faculty from the departments of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design, Painting + Printmaking, Art History, Art Foundation, the MFA program, the Library, and the Innovative Media Studios took turns sharing brief summaries of their research. The topics of study ranged from nanotechnology, healthcare, history and culture, design thinking, audio, comics, and artificial intelligence.
In addition to these research presentations, a variety of resource presentations were offered each afternoon. These included sessions on networking platforms, research repositories, and funding opportunities.
The facilitators for these resource presentations and their areas of focus were:
Haytham Ali, Director of Collaboration Platforms (Qatar Research Development and Innovation Council) – QRDI Portal
