Brynn Higgins-Stirrup is an interdisciplinary artist working in drawing and sculpture, currently based in Montreal, Canada. Her creative practice contemplates the ties that exist between drawing, embodiment, and the production of knowledge. She is currently completing a body of work exploring the Corinthian Maid. A Roman myth detailing the origin of drawing which will be exhibited, in early 2022, at YYZ Artists’ Outlet in Toronto, Canada.
Brynn holds an MFA in Visual Art from the University of Michigan. Since 2019, she has served as Artist in Residence and then Adjunct Professor in Painting and Printmaking at VCUarts Qatar. Brynn has exhibited and completed residencies internationally, including CONA Foundation, Mumbai, India; Vermont Studio Center, Johnson, USA; Critical Distance, Toronto, Canada; and Bucharest Arts Week, Bucharest, Romania. In December 2021, Brynn will launch a publication through VCUarts Qatar’s Painting + Printmaking department on her work and teaching in Doha.
