Summary
The Personal Development Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting students’ personal, social, and emotional growth at VCUQ and beyond. This role oversees programs and activities that foster student development, creating a safe and supportive learning environment. By promoting Spiritual, Moral, Social, and Cultural (SMSC) development and encouraging student involvement, the coordinator helps cultivate lifelong learning and well-rounded, responsible individuals. This is a part-time position, contributing a 50% FTE.
In line with the State of Qatar hiring guidelines, applicants must hold a valid Qatar residence permit (Qatar ID) to be considered for this position. This position will include certain benefits and is subject to obtaining CEID clearance from the Ministry of Interior for employment at VCUarts Qatar.

Major Activities & Essential Functions
- Develops an annual calendar of events focused on health and wellness awareness, and coordinates non-clinical counseling initiatives aimed at student development, and Encourages student participation in programs and initiatives.
- Organizes workshops and training sessions on life skills, including soft skills, emotional intelligence, and mindfulness, as well as, Collaborates with faculty, counselors, and staff to align programs with university goals.
- Conducts scheduled surveys to assess student engagement, and gathers feedback through surveys to evaluate program effectiveness.
- Uses data and feedback to enhance personal development programs, as well as, generates reports analyzing student feedback and program outcomes.
- Encourages student involvement in community service, fundraising, and advocacy, and coordinates with the health advisory board and QF for city-wide health and wellness initiatives, and, maintains a database of community engagement opportunities in Qatar.
- Reviews student resumes and provide feedback to the Personal Development Counselor, and oversees and supports the interview process.
- Handles all communication regarding screening and hiring, tracks and follows up on student time-sheet submissions.
- Develops and oversees student work schedules.
- Designs and updates TAO and PDCS courses on Canvas.
- Creates course content under the supervision of the Director, and manages student enrollment and removal upon graduation.
- Oversees the badging system for wellness ambassador programs, and tracks student engagement through Canvas, as well as, develops outreach initiatives for new students.
- Collaborates with the library to create student-focused LibGuides on health and wellness.
- Maintains and updates PDCS library resources, as well as, identifies and orders materials required for workshops.
- Oversees PDCS social media accounts, and manages promotions and advertisements.
- Analyzes engagement data and suggests improvements, as well as, develops strategies to increase followers and engagement.
- Maintains a regular posting schedule for PDCS events and promotions, and creates additional content to enhance social media reach.
- Organizes interactive campaigns such as Instagram challenges, and responds to comments and messages in a timely manner.
- Cross-promotes events hosted by other departments, and manages live social media engagement during events.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
- One to three years of experience in a similar role, preferably in Student Affairs or Higher Education, or equivalent experience.
- Background in Counseling, Life Coaching and/or training is preferred.
- Experience managing social media, including content design and engagement strategies.
- Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and other computer applications.
