Laptop Requirements

For all new students

  • VCUarts Qatar requires all incoming students to purchase an Apple laptop computer capable of running specific, required software.
  • Students will purchase a laptop at the vendor of their choice, and VCUarts Qatar IT will provide all required software and assist students with installation during orientation week.
  • Students will be expected to have an approved laptop, and the required software installed before the first day of class.
  • Students without a laptop that meets stated specifications or required software may not continue their studies at VCUarts Qatar.

For BFA and MFA Programs

First Year Introduction (FYI), Art Foundation, Art Foundation, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Kinetic Imaging, Painting + Printmaking, and MFA in Design

Minimum Hardware Specifications

  • Computer Specifications : 16″ MacBook Pro
  • Processor : Apple Pro or Max chip ( M3 or newer Recommended )
  • Memory : 16GB Unified Memory ( 24GB  Recommended)
  • Storage : 512GB SSD ( 1TB Recommended )
  • Laptop should not be more than a year old

For BA Program
