Awards for VCUarts Qatar’s Faculty and Staff at Annual Gathering

The Faculty and Staff Awards programs at VCUarts Qatar recognize and honor outstanding work or achievements by individuals identified by their peers as having consistently excelled in their work and demonstrated integrity and a strong commitment to the mission and values of their department and VCUarts Qatar. 

Six awards were given at the university’s annual faculty and staff gathering at HBKU Student Center at Education City. The event took place at the beginning of the academic year. 

Assistant Professor Denielle Emans from the Graphic Design department and Associate Professor Dr. Summer Bateiha from the Liberal Arts & Sciences department received the Distinguished Achievement in Teaching Award. 

The Distinguished Achievement in Research Award went to Graphic Design department Associate Professor Basma Hamdy, while Richard Blackwell, the university’s Digital Fabrication Lab & Woodshop Coordinator, received the Distinguished Achievement in Service Award. 

In the staff awards category, Carmina Celeridad, the Administrative Business Specialist for the Art Foundation and Painting and Printmaking departments won the Staff Excellence in Customer Service Award. 

The Staff Excellence in Achievement Service Award was won by Materials Library Assistant Abdul Rahman Anwar, and the Staff Excellence in Commitment Award went to Senior Research Officer Fikria Al Kaouakibi from the Academic Affairs department.
