Bernard Canniffe discusses how designers are now connecting with community organizations and medical research institutions, translating research and changing behaviors to assist disenfranchised communities.
The lecture focuses on a world where designers are sitting at the grown-up table and changing the world one project at a time.
Bernard J. Canniffe is co-founder of PIECE Studio and design departments chair at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. He is also an advisor to the international social collaborative group Project M and has had work featured in several publications including the Graphis Design Annual and Metropolis Magazine among others.
He is the recipient of the Graphis designers for the New Millennium, 2000 Award, and Joseph Binder Award in 2010.
