About John O’Connor

Since 1999 Irish sculptor John O’Connor has been actively involved with making unique sculptural works for public spaces in Ireland, including two projects in Northern Ireland. Many of his proposals have also been shortlisted for the % for art scheme set up by the Irish government. To date he has completed over thirty public art commissions. The briefs for these commissions have varied in both their value and complexity; some involved the commissioning of artworks which were installed either inside or outside public buildings, while others were more complex affairs involving consultation and collaboration with community groups, schools, landscape architects and engineers. O’Connor’s clients include many county councils and various private businesses.
