Natalie Jeremijenko, Artist/Engineer – What are the design opportunities for radically improving environmental health and augmenting biodiversity, particularly in urban desert ecosystems?
Can we harness the potential of new technology to significantly improve environmental performance, rather than lessen the damage of existing practices and products?
Natalie Jeremijenko is the director of the Environmental Health Clinic at New York University, assistant professor in Art, and affiliated with the Computer Science Dept. Recently named one of the 40 most influential designers by I.D. Magazine, her projects – which explore socio-technical change – have been exhibited by several museums and galleries, including the MASSMoCA, the Whitney, Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt.
