The Spring 2023 Research Retreat focused on commercialization as we began to develop soft infrastructure to support the commercialization interests and ambitions, particularly in the area of Design, for our students and faculty as well as our community partners across Education City. The retreat consists of two parts – a seminar on commercialization and introduction to VCU’s SHIFT Lab.
The Commercialization Seminar was facilitated by Ivelina Metcheva, Assistant Vice President for Innovation (VC), and Magdelena Morgan, Director of Licensing (VCU).Sessions delivered by them included:
Garret Westlake, Associate Vice Provost of Innovation and Executive Director of the Da Vinci Center for Innovation (VCU) presented the SHIFT lab overview and SHIFT micro-credentials.
