Multimedia Content Creator

Summary

We’re looking for a savvy Multimedia Content Creator (MCC) who can bring stories to life through written and multimedia storytelling, including long- and short-form written content, video, photography, and digital content. This role blends creative production with strategic digital communications to capture moments, shape narratives, and build audience engagement across various social media and digital platforms. From concept to final cut, the MCC will produce compelling multimedia content that amplifies VCUarts Qatar’s voice and presence online. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of maintaining a consistent brand presence across platforms by developing content that aligns with campaign objectives and engages diverse audiences. An ability to turn strategy into stories that resonate across channels is essential. They should be as comfortable developing written narratives and editorial content as they are behind the camera and in the editing suite, and have a sharp eye for visuals, a talent for storytelling, and knowledge of social and digital trends, audience engagement, and content formats.

Major Activities & Essential Functions

  • Plans, shoots, and edits high-quality video content (short-form and long-form) for digital campaigns, social media, and web.
  • Captures compelling photography and videography for events, campaigns, and brand storytelling, and creates short-form videos optimized for social media platforms.
  • Produces longer-form video pieces for campaigns, internal use, and brand storytelling, as well as, edits videos with graphics, captions, and sound design for maximum impact.
  • Researches, writes, and edits high-quality written content, including feature stories, web articles, news pieces, and campaign narratives, and develops clear, engaging copy for digital platforms, including website content, social media captions, and email communications.
  • On occasion and as needed, drafts clear, engaging written content to support campaigns, including press releases, news stories, and event-related copy, and translates institutional priorities and activities into concise, audience-focused narratives for web and media use.
  • Creates and curates engaging multimedia content across digital channels (website, social, email, multimedia), and consolidates inputs from departments and add to the main institutional content calendar
  • Maintains consistency of brand voice and visual identity across all platforms, as well as, supports digital campaigns, event promotions, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Ensures accessibility, accuracy, and relevance of multimedia content, and ensures all written content aligns with institutional messaging, editorial standards, and AP style where applicable.
  • Produces basic graphic design assets (e.g., social media visuals, infographics, banners, event collaterals), and works with the Design team to adapt creative concepts into short-form digital assets.
  • Collaborates with the Manager of Web and Digital Analytics and wider Communications team to refine content creation strategies based on data-informed insights.
  • Stays current with emerging trends, tools, and technologies in content creation, digital communications, and social video, and uses performance insights to refine both visual and written content for greater audience engagement and reach.
  • Translates communication strategies into compelling, platform-ready content that connects with diverse audiences, as well as, works closely with all the members of the Communications team.
  • Contributes to a collaborative and supportive team culture, and participates in regular team meetings and workshops.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media, Marketing, or related field.
  • 2 – 4 years of professional experience in content creation, digital communications, or digital marketing.
  • Fluency in English is required; familiarity with Arabic is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in professional editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve). Ability to edit both short-form (social media) and long-form content.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong ability to film and edit professional-quality videos; confident in using cameras, lighting, and audio equipment.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools to create compelling graphics and visuals.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to detail and tone.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing for web, media, or editorial platforms, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences.
  • Familiarity with social media content accessibility standards and data-informed content strategies.
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to multitask, and work to tight deadlines.
  • A high level of accuracy, work ethic, and a diligent worker.
  • Willingness and ability to work within a cooperative structure- working in a team.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a multicultural environment is highly desirable.
