VCUarts Qatar at the 2025 London Design Biennale - June 5–29, 2025
Congratulations to Graphic Design Junior student Latifa Al-Sulaiti who has won a book cover design competition that was organized by Qatar University Press.
The entrants to the competition were tasked with designing a cover that would reflect the title of the book, while also being authentic and original.
Latifa chose the book “Qatar on the Arabian Gulf. A search for lost times in Ancient History” by author Mohamed Farzat, and her design reflects it in the use of collage as a representation to the contents of the book.
“Participating in the book cover design competition – launched by QU Press – was an important experience in my field: graphic design,” Latifa said. “It was simply a great opportunity to showcase the importance of graphic design. This also gave me the chance to shed light on the pivotal role played by my university in encouraging and supporting its students to share their creative works.”
