Biography 

As a Chief Technology Officer at VCUarts Qatar, Mirza A Baig is charged with the creation of strategic technology initiatives that align with VCUarts Qatar and VCU vision, Institutional culture, and long-term goals. He works closely across the campus community with the Deans, faculty, staff, students and campus partners to deliver innovative technology solutions and services that enhance teaching, learning, research, and student activities. In this role, he overseas Information Technology Services department which provides, operates, and maintains computing and audio/video facilities, equipment, and services that meet the needs of the educational, research, and administrative programs of the University.
Mirza has always looked to work for top ranked organizations in their respected industries. His previous employment includes working for Reed Elsevier, Travelocity, Expedia, etc. At these organizations, Mirza carried out substantial upgrades to their IT infrastructure, marked improvements in the approach to cybersecurity, advances in the utilization of social media and collaborative tools, and critical innovations in the use of technology. He led the Mobile/Digital Now initiative, working to reinvent both physical and virtual environments, optimizing wireless access, inspiring fellow employees to transition to digital content, and leveraging mobile access across the lifecycle of user experiences.
