Painting + Printmaking Sophomores Raise Over QAR 5,000 for Qatar Charity

Our Painting + Printmaking sophomores recently raised over QAR 5,000 for Qatar Charity through a mobile t-shirt printing fundraiser at the Torba Farmer's Market in Education City

The fundraiser was part of their final project for Print Media II, taught by Assistant Professor Zach Stensen. They collaboratively designed and cut their own block designs, liaised with the organizers of the farmer’s market to get permission and secure a spot for the mobile printing station (“Kushk”) and also researched local charities to work with. The students ended up working with Qatar Charity, and during the event they hand-printed around 100 shirts, raising over QAR 5,000.

The event was such a success that there have been multiple requests to organize more mobile printing functions.
