VCUarts Qatar hosted its highly anticipated annual Fashion Show on Thursday evening, April 24th, unveiling the innovative collections of its final cohort of Fashion Design graduates in a captivating showcase titled Till Further Notice.

The event, held on the university’s Education City campus, marked an important chapter in the legacy of the Fashion Design program.

The evening brought together a vibrant community of families, friends, faculty, and members of the wider art and design scene in Qatar.

This year’s fashion show held special significance as it marked the final graduating class of the Fashion Design program at VCUarts Qatar. Five graduates took the spotlight, presenting collections that embodied bold creativity, personal expression, and a deep understanding of fashion as a vehicle for storytelling:  Samah Sulyman, Jeu de Denim; Jory Al-Buainain, Adolescence; Halah Murad Mahmoud, Soul of my Soul; Aljohara Al Sharif, Jamileh; Haya Al Thani, Ethereal Construct.

“It is with immense pride, joy, and just a touch of the bittersweet that I open this final show,” said Amir Berbić, Dean of VCUarts Qatar in his opening remarks, “These six graduating students have challenged conventions, reimagined traditions, and stayed true to themselves.”

Each graduate showcased a collection that spoke not only to their technical and creative skills, but also to their personal journeys as artists and designers. The show celebrated the students’ evolution—highlighting the long hours, creative risks, and moments of inspiration that shaped their work.

The event also honored the dedication and legacy of the program’s faculty and leadership. The following Fashion Design faculty members were recognized for their outstanding commitment to the program: Federica Visani, Ali Khan, Roda Al Marzouqi, Esther De Veuve, Abdul Cader, and Sonali Raman. A special acknowledgement was given to Sandra Wilkins, the founding chair of the department, whose leadership helped establish the program’s strong foundation.

A heartfelt tribute was paid to Christopher Fink, Chair of the Fashion Design program, whose six-year tenure elevated the program through international collaborations and high-profile opportunities. Under his guidance, students worked with global fashion icons such as David Beckham, Diane Von Furstenberg, and Liberty London, and participated in immersive experiences across fashion capitals like Paris and Milan.
