Hala is the coordinator of the Digital Design + Fabrication Studio at VCUarts Qatar. With a deep-rooted passion for the intersection of technology, design, and making, Hala specializes in creating innovative spaces where experimentation and creativity occur. Her work spans a wide range of disciplines, including digital fabrication, electronics, biomaterials, and e-textiles where Hala’s approach integrates design thinking with hands-on making. Her practice is dedicated to exploring what can be achieved through the hybridization of digital and physical processes
My research explores the intersection of materials, techniques, and interactions that shape contemporary design practices. Focusing on digital fabrication and innovative making processes, I examine how these elements influence the way designers approach and rethink traditional methods. By centering the act of making at the forefront of design, I investigate how hands-on experimentation and emerging technologies drive creativity and practical applications in a variety of fields.
