This is an online taster for the full course that will be held from Nov 6, 2024 to Dec 11, 2024.
Participants who are interested in photography but have no prior experience can learn the fundamentals of photography in this course using their own personal phones. This course will examine the key photographic processes and artistic elements related to making images through a mixture of lecture, demonstration, and hands-on tasks. These include camera phone operation, composition, lightning, editing and honing one’s photography vision.

Tasneem Alkhatib
A documentary filmmaker and educator, Tasneem previously served as an Assistant Professor for Design and Digital Media at the Applied Science Private University in Amman, where she contributed to curating the university’s new major in Design and Digital Media. In 2014, she initiated a community-based arts education project with young Syrian refugees in Zaatari Refugee Camp, Jordan, and co-founded Another Kind of Girl Collective (AKGC), where she served as a producer and editor. She taught and facilitated multimedia projects with AKGC in cross-border collaborations based in New Orleans, LA. Recently, she began working in Qatar as a producer with a media production company, leading various commercial and corporate media projects, while continuing to teach media-based workshops across different sectors.
