Poetics Of Space Libray News Final

Why do we feel emotional connections to places and spaces? Why is it that some places resonate with us more than others? Our new library book display titled The Poetics of Space is about spaces, architecture and human experience. It is about the psychological experience of a place. The display highlights books that talk about how we perceive, design and experience space.

The title of the exhibit, The Poetics of Space, is borrowed from the book by the same name from 1958 by the French philosopher Gaston Bachelard, where Bachelard explores personal, emotional experiences and reactions to architecture.

Come by the library and check out the book display!
