VCUQatar was delighted to welcome Her Excellency Susan L. Ziadeh, the U.S. Ambassador to Qatar, to its campus on Sunday to meet with VCUQatar students, faculty and staff and take a tour of the campus.
Ambassador Ziadeh was greeted at VCUQatar by Dean Allyson Vanstone, Executive Director of Communications Meike Kaan, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs Valerie Jeremijenko and Director of Student Leadership Hissa Al Garni.
“VCUQatar and the other top-notch American universities in Education City highlight the enduring partnership between the United States and Qatar in higher education,” Ambassador Ziadeh said. “I was impressed with how students and faculty are working collaboratively to make tangible contributions to Qatar’s national vision. From new designs for Sidra hospital uniforms to an innovative safe driving campaign that will save lives, VCUQatar students are making an important and creative impact on their community.”
Ambassador Ziadeh previewed artwork for the upcoming VCUQatar alumni exhibition 6:3:1; toured the state-of-the-art facilities including the 3D fabrication lab, the materials library, and the chroma room; and visited the Center for Research, Design and Entrepreneurship.
“We are delighted to welcome Her Excellency Susan Ziadeh to VCUQatar,” said Dean Vanstone. “ It was great to introduce the ambassador to our students and their work and discuss in more detail our current institutional research projects. We are pleased to continue the supportive relationship between the US Embassy and VCUQatar.”
