The Painting & Printmaking Program at VCUarts Qatar, in collaboration with the Visual, Literary and Drama Section, Department of Educational Guidance at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Qatar, is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the second edition of the High School Fine Art Award, themed Nature & the Self.
The award ceremony and exhibition were honored by the presence of Hemyan Al Kabbi, Director of Visual Arts and Theatre Division, and Dr. Amro Abu Al Huda, Advisor on Fine Arts at the Ministry of Higher Education. Their attendance highlighted the growing national commitment to supporting young artists and expanding opportunities for creative expression in Qatar.

This year’s theme invited Grade 11 and 12 students to explore how the natural world reflects inner landscapes of memory, resilience, and transformation. Through painting, printmaking, photography and digital art, participants presented compelling interpretations of how nature becomes a mirror for the self.
Reflecting on this year’s submissions, Amir Berbić, Dean of VCUarts Qatar, noted, “The quality of work presented this year was exceptional. These students demonstrated a level of creativity, technical skill, and depth of thought that speaks to a remarkable future for the arts in Qatar. We look forward to staying in touch with these talented young artists as they continue their studies and chart their own creative paths.”

The top awards were presented to ten outstanding students whose work demonstrated exceptional artistic promise. The 2025 top award recipients are Wadha Saeed, Jowana Alserhi, Aisha Almuhannadi, Saleh Al Nuaimi, Joud Alamri, Ali Almuhannadi, Ferja Al-Marri, Duaa Muatasim, Rashid Muhammed, and Abdulrahman Al-Qahtani.
