VCUarts Qatar’s CCE Organizes New Year Experience 2024 Aimed at Personal Growth and Community Connection.

VCUarts Qatar’s Community and Continuing Education (CCE) program organized a series of workshops collectively titled New Year Experience 2024, for the public, in January this year.

The workshops – Refresh Your Home, Bullet Journaling, Mindful Painting and Floral Design – provided participants with opportunities for self-discovery, creativity, and community connection.

In Refresh Your Home, led by Begum Yigit, an interdisciplinary interior designer, participants explored the processes and techniques involved in decluttering, furniture layout and color psychology, and the art of sourcing budget-friendly decor.

Maria Marcela Daza Garcia Mayorca was the instructor for the Bullet Journaling workshop. She demonstrated how journaling could be a channel for self-expression and organization, fostering personal development through goal setting, self-realization, intentionality and structured time-management.

Two workshops,  Mindful Painting and Floral Designs, were held at the Café #999 at the Fire Station in Markhiya.  Led by artist and VCUarts Qatar alumnus Yousuf Bahzad, participants in the painting workshop used colors, brushes, and palette knives to bring their ideas to life, while those in the Floral Design course, taught by Heba Mootassem, an architect, learned how to use form, color, and design to create floral decorations.

The New Year Experience 2024 reflects VCUarts Qatar’s commitment to fostering personal growth and well-being within the community.
