Undergraduate Merit Scholarship

All prospective students are automatically evaluated for the scholarship when they submit their general application to any undergraduate program at VCUarts Qatar.

Selection is based on holistic academic and creative merit, evaluated through application review, potential interviews, letters of recommendation, a minimum GPA of 3.3, and English language proficiency.

Each scholarship is valued up to $40,000 per year. Funds are applied directly to tuition (up to $37,642/year), and where approved, may also cover Qatar Foundation student housing, which range from $2,774 to $7,604/year, depending on room type.

Yes, it is renewable for up to four academic years. Renewal requires maintaining good academic standing, a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00, remaining in the original major, and is subject to continued funding from Qatar Foundation.

No. Recipients are automatically reviewed annually to ensure they still meet the eligibility and renewal criteria. 

Up to five merit scholarships will be awarded to incoming students each year.

Yes, prospective students who will be receiving external financial aid can still be considered for the VCUarts Qatar merit scholarship.

Yes, while the scholarship is intended to primarily support international recruitment, local applicants will be considered as well.

The scholarship is exclusively awarded to incoming first-year students. Current VCUarts Qatar students are not eligible to apply. Yes, the scholarship applies to all VCUarts Qatar undergraduate degree programs.

January 15. Since there is no separate application process for the scholarship, the deadline is the standard VCUarts Qatar admissions deadline.

The Admissions team sends award letters beginning each April.
