In crafting the ‘Ceylonese’ collection, I drew inspiration from my multicultural upbringing and the vibrant tapestry of influences that have shaped my identity.
Growing up, I found myself navigating the dichotomy of tradition and modernity. Social media and street style served as constant sources of inspiration, offering glimpses into global fashion movements and individual expressions of style.
From the intricate pleats of traditional sarees to the bold silhouettes and detailing borrowed from 90s aesthetics, each garment in the collection is a testament to this cross-cultural dialogue. Through meticulous craftsmanship and innovative design, I strive to capture the essence of my heritage.
As you explore this collection, I invite you to embark on a visual journey of rediscovery, where tradition and modernity converge in a celebration of cultural identity and sartorial innovation.I aim to pay homage to my roots, honor the spirit of Sri Lankan culture, and offer a unique perspective on the intersection of tradition and modernity in today’s fashion landscape.
