“Botany of my Homeland: The Importance of Qatari Plants in its Culture

Graphic design

The current fast-paced and highly digital landscape contributes to a disconnection from the natural world and local Qatari landscape. My thesis aims to bridge this gap by regrounding and fostering connections between its people and the plants. By creating and designing pieces from natural experimental materials, and utilizing mobile applications that focus on plant identification, this project empowers individuals to develop a new appreciation for the often-overlooked plant life that thrives alongside them. Regrounding has the potential to foster a sense of place, environmental stewardship, and a renewed appreciation for the beauty and complexity of the natural world.
