Amid the ongoing regional situation the university has moved to remote operations and public access to its premises are not available. Information on scheduled activities will be communicated to individuals directly.

With the generous support of the Qatar Foundation, the Painting & Printmaking Department is proud to showcase the VCUarts Qatar Fellowship and the work of this year’s fellow: Leekyung Kang.
Leekyung Kang has navigated the structural framework and “bone/skeleton” of infrastructure in urban landscapes since 2014. By exploring spatial surfaces, such as construction sites and scaffolding structures, Kang leverages architectural imagery with mixed media. She has recently been seeking to uncover the unseen space, which is present, but never fully revealed.
Kang would like to capture this unfinished state and challenge the conventional understanding of space, which tends to focus on its physical condition, history, and transformation.
Opening hours: Every day from 9am to 6pm.
