Join us for a hands-on workshop exploring the rich heritage of Palestinian Tatreez, a traditional embroidery art that tells stories through stitches. Participants will learn basic Tatreez techniques, discover the cultural significance behind the patterns, and create their own unique pieces that blend tradition with contemporary design. This workshop is open to all skill levels and offers a creative space to preserve and celebrate Palestinian culture.
Students will learn the basic techniques of Tatreez and go ahead and do it on their own.
Please note: VCUQatar reserves the right to cancel classes for which not enough participants are registered. Already paid fees will be refunded.
Please do not purchase materials until VCUQatar has sent final course confirmation.

Naima Monif Almajdobah
Lecturer
Naima is a designer holding an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and is currently undergoing
her master’s degree in Design Studies from VCUarts Qatar. Naima’s exploration and interest in design grew
from a personal interest in sonic explorations and cultural literacy. She believes that focusing on her
culture and mixing it with contemporary mediums and technologies, can preserve that culture and shed
light on the lost crafts that once existed and for other people to learn more about it.
