About this class

Are you drawn to details on clothing closures? Or have loved a specific snap in comparison to another? Or Ever needed solutions to find ways to connect and close bags, shirts, skirts etc?  Clothing Closure and Applications course, aims at teaching basics of clothing closures, its mechanism and applications. During these 8 sessions we will work with various types of clothing closures that can create a huge difference to the outfit, both in its functionality as well as its appeal. If you are someone keen on details and its functionality, interested to work with simple tools and are passionate, join in for some fun 3 hour sessions of gaining knowledge and keeping the mind go creative. If you are afraid of not having prior knowledge, worry not, just let me know! 

Objective of the course: Sharing and understanding functionality of details, broadening application horizon, instilling creativity and focusing on individuality and uniqueness.

Class Outline
  1. Introduction, and understanding closures: History and Fashion Stories.
  2. Working with Tools: Practical Application, functions, mechanism and aesthetics.
  3. Design your own: Concept Development: Bag, Accessory or Dress- Project Brief
  4. Design Your own: Construction- Concept Development and Pattern Making
  5. Design your own: Construction: Working on Making

Design your own: Final Presentation and Critique

  • Materials to be purchased as and when requested.
  • Snap Pliers, and other tools. 

On occasions, there may be some more materials to be bought and brought in if and when advised by the instructor.
