About this class

Course participants must have taken the Elementary level Basic SilkPainting course as a prerequisite for this class. Students will learn more advanced Silk Painting techniques, like i.e. silk pencil / color bar, and more advanced batik techniques

  • Stretching the silk without frame, drawing design onto the silk and applying resist on silk
  • Silk Pencil and Bar Techniques
  • Advanced Batik

  • 1 nos  50 cm / 50 cm fine 100% silk pieces-QR 15×2= QR 15
  • 1 no Black coloured Gutta Liner for silk (i.e. from Marabou)= QR 15

On occasions, there may be some more materials to be bought and brought in if and when advised by the instructor.

Rashmi Agarwal
Lecturer

Rashmi was born in India to a well-educated family and is presently living in the State of Qatar. After completion of her professional degrees in law and commerce, she pursued her passion – the art of silk painting. The mesmerizing world of colours and intricacies of design and patterns on silk never cease to intrigue her. She is on the Board of Directors for Silk Painters International (SPIN), a member of the Fine Art America, The GSP international forum, and several other forums. She is also a Founder and President of MAPS art community in Qatar. She also conducts silk art courses and workshops for adults and children in her Art Studio. After holding a series of exhibitions featuring her silk paintings on various mediums, Rashmi Agarwal wants to enter the fashion world with her designer scarves that pack in a brilliant burst of colours, East-West fusions, and Middle Eastern motifs.
