About this class

Participants will design and print their own t-shirt. They will start with creating their design with the help of simple shapes. They will make stamps out of their designs, which will then be applied onto their t-shirts. The end result will be colourful t- shirts with patterns, through the repetition of their designs onto the t-shirts.

Class Outline
  • Lesson 1: Designing t shirt using simple shapes presenting the registration ticket
  • Lesson 2 : Designing stamps for t shirt
  • Lesson 3:  Making stamps
  • Lesson 4: Test printing and making patterns with stamps
  • Lesson 5 : Printing the final design on t shirt

Wajiha Pervez

Wajiha is an Interdisciplinary designer, maker, materials enthusiast and traveler from Pakistan. She completed her graduate studies at Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar and is currently an artist in residence at the Firestation Artist in Residence. Living between Netherlands, Qatar and Pakistan, Wajiha has gained knowledge of a broad spectrum of international design. Dividing her time between work, exhibitions, research and workshops, Wajiha aims to share her knowledge and create meaningful dialogues between human, environment and culture through design interaction.
