You are not alone. In this course, Instructor Sara Powell invites you to a creative space where together participants will engage in artmaking, reflect on their emotional wellbeing, and on managing and mitigating the impact of the pandemic, while reflecting on transitioning with a lack of connectivity and uncertainty, fear, and anxiety. This course provides an avenue and opportunity to interact, ask questions, and collectively support each other.
The session will be facilitated by an Art Psychotherapist. No previous art-making is required. Participants will, however, require some basic art materials which can be found at home.
Please note: VCUQatar reserves the right to cancel classes for which not enough participants are registered. Already paid fees will be refunded.
Please do not purchase materials until VCUQatar has sent final course confirmation.
On occasions, there may be some more materials to be bought and brought in if and when advised by the instructor.

She is an Art Psychotherapist and is registered with the Health Care Profession Council (HCPC) UK and a member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). Sara is a mother to a toddler and during her pregnancy observed a need for perinatal and postnatal mental health as well as an overall lack of early intervention services available for children 6 years and below, which led Sara to the introduction of ATIC’s Early Intervention and Child Development services. Sara has overseen numerous projects consulting Government agencies in Singapore and UAE (in forensic settings, with addiction as well as in medical settings, and with vulnerable children and young people). Sara is a published author and has presented at many national, regional, and international conferences.
