As part of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022(tm) Series, we bring you this World Cup Posters course designed to teach the fundamentals of creating a digital poster with the theme of the FIFA World Cup:
Learning Outcome:
Day 1: Introduction to Poster design. Discussion about design elements, concepts and principles on World Cup Posters
Day 2: Design thinking, conceptualizing and practicing Adobe illustrator.
Day 3: Assignments on Poster design and collecting inspiration. A class discussion to understand and value the creative process. Develop the ability to generate, analyse, edit and refine concepts.
Day 4: The students will present their research (mood board) to the class on the concept of their posters and will also share design precedents to move forward.
Day 5: Students will share their progress with the class and the instructor for feedback to refine the project.
Day 6: Continue working on the posters
Day 7: Print the final posters and 5min presentation of the final project by each student to the class and a brief critique.

Rabeya Khatoon
Rabeya Khatoon is an interdisciplinary and graphic designer. Her practice is focused on narration through storytelling, using different methods of communication such as typography, image-making, and product design. Rabeya graduated with a Master’s (MFA) in Interdisciplinary Design Studies and a Bachelor’s (BFA) in Graphic Design from Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar. As a resident of Qatar for over two decades, she has developed a unique culture through her experience growing up in multiple cultures.
Rabeya’s research and creative work encompass photographs, prints, and artifacts that celebrate diversity in different contexts. Her design process merges the digital and analog processes of making, through different mediums. Her work has been exhibited in Qatar and other regions. As a graphic designer, she has experience working with several clients and is currently working at a government organization. She has collaborated with artisans and designers in the Netherlands, UK, India, and USA to produce interdisciplinary design projects.
