Duration: Summer 2025: June 22nd – August 31st, extension may be possible

Project Overview

Qatar Biomedical Research Institute (QBRI) is offering a paid summer internship for a qualified Interior Design student to support the rebranding and redesign of key interior spaces across the institute.

The intern will work closely with the Communications and Facilities teams to enhance the functionality and visual identity of various workspaces in alignment with QBRI’s mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate existing interior layouts to identify improvement opportunities
• Develop creative concepts and design proposals tailored to institutional needs
• Support the rebranding effort through layout planning, space optimization, and visual design
• Produce design visuals or 3D mock-ups using tools like SketchUp, AutoCAD, or Adobe Creative Suite

Qualifications

• Must be a current student with a background in Interior Design
• Strong interest in commercial or institutional interior design
• Proficiency in relevant design software and visualization tools
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a professional environment

Skills Required

• Proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
• Basic understanding of space planning and user-centered design
• Strong sense of aesthetics, layout, and functionality
• Ability to interpret design briefs and translate them into visual concepts
• Strong time management and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and ability to integrate feedback into refined designs
