Over 400 participants submitted their résumés, which were included in the "EC Job Fair Résumé Book" that was distributed to the employers after the event
The Education City Job Fair took place this year on March 13 and 14 at @tamuq Engineering Building, and was by any measure a resounding success.
It attracted over 80 employers across both days, and was visited by more than 500 students and alumni.
Employers at the Job Fair included BEIN Sports, Barker Langham Recruitment (which flew in from Dubai), Qatar Foundation, MEMAC Ogilvy, Tivoli Group, M7 Qatar, and Aspire Zone, to name but a few, and employer participation was based on available professional opportunities, including open vacancies, internships, and project-based freelance opportunities.
Over 400 participants submitted their résumés, which were included in the “EC Job Fair Résumé Book” that was distributed to the employers after the event.
The Job Fair was widely praised by participants for being a great opportunity for students and alumni to meet with potential employers in areas outside of their specializations, to network, and to tap into other industries with their transferable skills.
Noor Hussein AlOraidi, VCUarts Qatar’s Student Employment & Career Services Coordinator said, “Despite the evolving nature of the pandemic at the beginning of the year, and after two years of collaborating with the partner universities on virtual career events, the in-person event was an opportunity for students and alumni to connect with potential employers and tap into tap into a wider range of opportunities.”
The in-person event was organized by VCUarts Qatar, Texas A&M University at Qatar, Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, Georgetown University in Qatar, Northwestern University in Qatar, and Hamad Bin Khalifa University.
