The logo designed by AlShibani will gradually be integrated into Chaumet’s brand identity and eventually installed in flagship stores in Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

Zainab AlShibani had to “make sure that the Arabic logo represented the Latin logo without removing the elements that make the script what it is”.

Zainab AlShibani, a Class of 2021 Graphic Design graduate, was invited by M7 to design the new Arabic logo for Chaumet, a renowned French luxury jewelry and watch house.

According to AlShibani, she had to “make sure that the Arabic logo represented the Latin logo without removing the elements that make the script what it is”. The design was also inspired by the concept of the “حلية” (the earring) in Arabic.

AlShibani said, “It is a huge honor. I have to thank M7 for championing regional talent and for trusting me with such a unique project that highlights Arabic culture and language. I had the support and guidance of M7 and Chaumet Arabia throughout the process.”

She added, “I also had the privilege of presenting the logo to Her Excellency Sheikha Al-Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatar Museum’s Chairperson, at the Doha Jewellery And Watches Exhibition 2024.”

Explaining the collaboration via its social media feed, M7, a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in fashion, design and technology located in Msheireb Downtown Doha, announced, “Zainab worked on the intricate interplay of the Latin and Arabic letterforms, the new Arabic logo design evokes a sense of harmony and balance, symbolizing the fusion of tradition and innovation, as well as capturing the essence of Chaumet’s elegance and sophistication.”

Chaumet, established in 1780 in Paris, is synonymous with creative excellence and is renowned for its tiaras, timepieces and other jewelry. It has a store in Qatar’s Place Vendome mall near Lusail. The brand has a network of 80 flagship stores worldwide, including prominent locations in Tokyo, Hong Kong, London and the Middle East.

The logo designed by AlShibani will gradually be integrated into Chaumet’s brand identity and eventually installed in flagship stores in Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
