Congratulations to our Interior Design Junior students whose designs received awards at the Build Your House 2024 conference in Qatar.

Build Your House (BYH) hosts an annual competition for Interior Design students from VCUarts Qatar, providing a platform for young talent to showcase their creativity.

Three finalists received invaluable industry exposure as their designs were showcased at the exhibition, offering them a unique opportunity to connect with professionals and consumers, and gain recognition.

This year our students were given a project titled, “Biotopic Habitation”, to work on for the competition.

The 2024 winners are: first place, Israa Mahjoub, 2nd runner up – Haya al Janahi, 3rd runner up- Shaikha Al Mass.

The awards ceremony took place at Qatar National Convention Centre and they received the awards from Her Excellency Mrs. Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad, Minister of Social Development and Family in the Government of the State of Qatar.

BYH is an innovative concept tailored to meet the construction, fit-out, and renovation needs of Qatari nationals with the aim of fostering the development of more livable cities and enhancing the quality of life for citizens throughout the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. It has emerged as a hub for showcasing the offerings of both local SMEs and international industry experts to consumers in Qatar.
