Biography

My career in international education spans more than 35 years, including some 23 years in leadership positions in higher education varying from small private to large research universities, including:

  • Director of International Programs at The University of Mississippi (2009-2015)
  • Assistant Graduate Dean for International Affairs (2005-2009) at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte
  • Director of International Admissions at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (2003-2005)
  • Assistant Director of International Student Services at State University of New Year (2002-2003)
  • Director of International Student Admissions and Services at Carroll University (1996-2002)
  • 13 years in experiential international education, i.e. Director of Admissions-Europe/Africa; Manager of Enrollment-Europe; Manager of Orientation & Staging; Student Programs Manager; etc. (1984-1996).

My professional experiences have taken me to 45 countries on 5 continents, working with hundreds of students, scholars and faculty from around the world.
I have been deeply engaged in my professional communities, and specifically with the American International Recruitment Council, or AIRC. I served on the AIRC Board of Directors, as Chair of the AIRC Certification Commission, and Chaired various AIRC committees for multiple years. I serve on various permanent committees at VCUarts Qatar, including the Academic Regulations Committee (Chair); the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee (Founding Member); Dean’s Advisory Group; Administrative Advisory Committee; Crisis Management Team; etc.
