Biography

Joshua Rodenberg holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Southern Indiana and a Master of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is the Head of Innovative Media Studios and an Assistant Professor at VCUarts Qatar. As a sound and video artist, Joshua focuses on creating immersive experiences through audio and video manipulation, sculpture, and multimedia installations. He frequently scores sound design projects for artistic films, such as Federico Cuatlacuatl’s 2024 film *Tiemperos*. His work spans various forms of media, contributing his expertise to artist exhibitions, live performances, experimental films, VR games, mobile apps, experimental sound projects, and podcasts.

At VCUarts Qatar, he actively shapes creative endeavors with his sound design and technical skills. In 2024, he received the VCU Quest Fund research grant, which complements his upcoming participation in the Arctic Circle Artist Residency program in Fall 2024. Joshua’s passion for exploration and innovation is a defining element of his artistic practice and research.
