KhouloodSakbani has been in the field of teaching the Arabic language since 1999. She earned her BA in Arabic language and literature in 1996 and her MA in teaching Arabic as a second language in 2015 from Damascus University in Syria. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Saint Joseph University in Beirut in applied linguistics and enhanced learning.
Khoulood has served as an Arabic lecturer at Damascus University, Higher language institute for over 15 years, including teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language, including modern standard, dialect, Arabic literature, and culture to a variety of study abroad programs hosted in Damascus University such as SOAS, Exeter, Durham, and Flagship. She also worked as a teacher coordinator at the university, presenting various workshops to them. Also, she has been teaching diplomacy Arabic to diplomates in the British Council and American Embassy in Syria.
Khoulood found the study abroad program CASA at Damascus university in 2009 and served as an executive director and one of the lecturers. She also joined several programs teaching Arabic in the USA, including the Flagship program at the University of Maryland, Austin University in Texas, Emory University in Atlanta, and Iqraa language center in Dubai.
Khoulood was teaching in Hamad bin Khalifa in Qatar in 2016 before joining VCUQ in 2018 to work with heritage students and develop a curriculum to help them to achieve their fluency in Arabic.
