Vantablack 2

The VCUarts Qatar Materials Library is proud to acquire Vantablack, world's darkest manmade material!

Vantablack absorbs 99.965% of light. The name Vanta stands for Vertically Aligned Nanotube Array. It is made by growing tubes made of carbon with walls 1 atom thick, onto a 3D nanostructure surface that resembles a forest of many millions of tubes. Designed for uses such as preventing stray light entering sensitive telescopes, it can also be used for thermal camouflage, in art pieces, and potentially for architectural interiors, even product design!
