University looks forward to welcoming aspiring creatives, artists, and designers

VCUarts Qatar has opened the application process for students seeking admission for the academic year 2023. The deadline for applying is January 15, 2023.

Aspiring creatives can apply to our four-year undergraduate programs that offer specializations in Graphic Design, Interior Design, Painting + Printmaking, and Art History. Those seeking to augment their undergraduate qualifications or enhance their existing careers can do so through our MFA in Design program. Students choosing to join us will also benefit from the presence of the recently launched Institute for Creative Research at the University, the only one of its kind in the country.

Caitlin Murphy, our Director of Recruitment and Admissions, announcing the application process, said: “We’re keen to welcome students who are willing to push boundaries in the application of art and design for the betterment of humanity. Our university realizes that our future is one that will be driven by innovation in design thinking, and we prepare our students to collaborate, design, and think accordingly. “By the time they graduate from VCUarts Qatar, our students are ahead of the curve. We know this because our graduates are currently in leading roles in all major industries, both in Qatar and around the world.”

Interested students are urged to begin the application process as soon as possible. Our Admissions counselors are available for consultations every day.

Our alumni are currently employed throughout the world in roles as varied as art and design, filmmaking, interior design, and incubation development. Over the last two decades, many of them have garnered international recognition on the global stage, winning coveted awards such as the Red Dot Award, the International Property Awards, and others.

The creative work and projects of our students, alumni, staff, and faculty have been exhibited at prestigious exhibitions in Dubai, Paris, Moscow, Hong Kong, and at the University’s home campus in Richmond, Virginia.

At VCUarts Qatar, students regularly get to take part in world-class art and design events, and field trips to study, work and network. The University also makes it a point to invite internationally acclaimed designers and artists such as Valentino, Hassan Hajjaj, Richard Serra, Shirin Neshat, Jeff Koons, Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Diane von Furstenberg, Reza Abedini, Marina Abramović, Wissam Shawkat, Rami Al Ali, Naeem Khan, and Hector Ayuso, to give talks, lectures, and workshops.
