Vcuarts Qatar Deans List March 2021 1

One hundred and twenty four students recognized for their achievements

The second half of the academic year 2020-2021 saw 124 high achieving students at VCUarts Qatar earn places on the Dean’s List.

Across the global higher education sector, inclusion in a university’s Dean’s List is a recognition of a student’s commitment to hard work and academic excellence. At VCUarts Qatar, this selection takes place bi-annually, and is followed by a celebration to felicitate the recipients. This year, due to pandemic-imposed restrictions, the event – which traditionally includes a luncheon with family and friends – took place virtually.

Of the 124 students placed on the 2021 fall semester’s Dean’s List, 23 are from the Art Foundation Program, 20 are from the Art History program, 12 are from the Fashion Design program, 34 are from the Graphic Design program, 17 are from the Interior Design program, and 18 are from the Painting and Printmaking program.

During the online celebrations, key administrative and academic leaders at the university spoke to the Dean’s list recipients and congratulated them for their achievements, including Dean Amir Berbić, and Interim Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Cherif Amor.

Amir Berbić, the Dean of VCUarts Qatar, welcomed the online audience of students and their families. “In a year that has been anything but ordinary, your hard work and dedication has pushed you beyond your own expectations, to deliver these outstanding results,” he said. “What you have achieved – excellence in the midst of adversity – is no small feat. I would like to congratulate each one of you, and your families for this; collectively, you’ve shown the world that working together, you can make things work for you. I hope the coming months and years at VCUarts Qatar see you build on the confidence that you have acquired from your experiences over the last few months.”
